...
i n a d e q u a t e . thats how im feeling.

| things that have me thinking lately.
. in san diego my taxi driver was from somalia. he was able to come over to the united states with his family five years ago after winning 'the lottery'. he was one of 20,000 lucky people given a ticket to freedom. freedom from war. freedom from famine. freedom from inevitable death. his accent was thick, and strangely enough made me miss africa. it made me think about the millions of people who weren't so lucky.
. today i was sitting outside of a grocery store selling the 'worlds finest chocolate' to raise some much needed funds for this trip to thailand. a man stopped by to see our posterboard. once he found out that we were christians, he proceeded to tell us that we were disgusting, hateful, horrible, sickening people with no hearts.. sometimes this makes me bitter towards 'the church'.. i wonder where all of this pain and hatred stemmed from.
. i made a realization that i am a nomad. i cant sit still for more than a month or two. and i love it. especially since many dear ones are scattered across the nation and the globe. but i am tired of airplane snacks, and the feeling of my ears adjusting to the air pressure. and soon soon comes a much farther place. [thailand]. ten days. that means that i can count it on my hands. ten fingers. ten days. oy.
. im lucky to {live} in colorado. i really am. and i think about that a lot. kind of strange.
